NEWLY-elected ZIFA board members Sugar Chagonda and Chamu Chiwanza are expected to grace the potentially explosive ZIFA Manicaland Division Two playoffs pitting Clearwater and Ratings.

The match will decide which the team will be promoted into Division One league next season and will be played at Mutare Showgrounds.

League 2A teams Midway and Claremont finished in first and second, respectively and will lock horns against Ratings and Clearwater, who were first and second in league 2B.

Clearwater beat Midway in the first playoff while Ratings outsmarted Claremont in another semi final played at Sabi Valley School. ZIFA Manicaland chairman Kuziwa Nyabeze said they were expecting a thriller.

“It’s all systems go at Mutare showground where we are expecting delegates from the newly-elected ZIFA board members Sugar Chagonda and Chamu Chiwanza to attend as guests.

“Manica Diamonds gaffer Luke Masomere will also be in attendance and we are urging soccer fans to come in their numbers as this match provides them a rare opportunity to mix and mingle with the big names in local football,” he said.

ZIFA Manicaland vice chairperson Gift Mapinda added:

“It has been such a wonderful journey and I am happy that the league’s curtains are come down on a high note.

“It is interesting to note that the two teams are all from outside Mutare. We are looking forward to an exciting match”.

Nyabeze and Mapinda have propelled the league into a competitive one. The league is expected to honour outstanding players and coaches at an awards ceremony to be held soon.
