MUTARE City Rovers coach Joseph ‘Shabba’ Takaringofa is back in the spotlight this Sunday as Gusha Bhora go out in search of a positive news that should bring some warmth into their dressing room following a string of poor results.
After sharing spoils with ZPC Kariba last Saturday, Mutare City Rovers are aiming their guns at ‘new boys’ Herentals in a Castle Lager Premiership Soccer League match set for Vengere on Sunday.
Mutare City Rovers’ poor start to the season will not fool them into believing that they will have it all easy but coach Takaringofa remains optimistic.
On the other hand, Herentals will also work hard to collect maximum point away.
Coach Takaringofa said his main focus is to win the Sunday encounter.
“We are prepared. We are not leaving any stone unturned. All we need is a maximum points and nothing more.
We are not underrating our opponents but we have to fight for good results,” he said.
His counterpart Kumbirai Mutiwekuziwa expects a tough match.
Last week, the Harare based side held Black Rhinos to a goalless draw.
“It is definitely going to be a tough game, but we will put up a fight. It is every coach’s desire to collect a complete set of points. We are preparing very well for our Mutare City Rovers encounter.
Rovers will have a home advantage and we are not underrating them but we are both more of new boys in the league. We are almost on the same boat since we both gained promotion this season.
“Moral in the camp is very high. There is much improvement in the team judging by our last match against Black Rhinos where we managed a draw.
“Away games are always a challenge but we are preparing accordingly. We have it in mind that we are playing away from home. Playing away does not mean that a team cannot collect maximum points.
“The main challenge that we have faced so far in the league is lack of experienced players.
We have created so many chances but have failed to convert. The guys have been playing very well and we hope results will be coming soon,” he said.
Mutiwekuziwa played down relegation fears. Herentals are on 14th position on the log with 10 points.
“We cannot talk of relegation now. It is too early. We still have a long way to go considering that we have just played 11 matches,” he said.
