MUTARE City Rovers coach Joseph ‘Shabba’ Takaringofa says he is not losing sleep over the manner in which his troops have been dropping points and is oozing with confidence ahead of the Bulawayo Chiefs clash tomorrow at Vengere stadium.

Mutare City Rovers are second from the bottom with 2 points from the five matches that they have played.

Gusha Bhora lost to Nichrut 1-0, Chapungu 3-2, and Chicken Inn 2-1, and one-all stalemate against Harare City and Shabanie Mine.

Takaringofa faces a tough task against Bulawayo Chiefs.

“We started off slowly and this is a cause for concern for everyone because things have not gone according to our expectations. Football has always been a pressure game. It is too early to talk of relegation. We are only five games into the league. The boys are doing very well. We are going into tomorrow’s game with confidence. The boys are improving by each game.

“We have been lacking creativity and taking control of the game in our past matches but we are trying to manage. I am sure tomorrow, we will see a lot of positives,” he said.

Meanwhile Shabba was slept with a four-match ultimatum to collect at least nine points, failure to do so he will risk losing his job. Club spokes person Clayton Masekesa confirmed the development.

“The executive held a meeting and came up with a decision to give the coaches four games ultimatum starting with the Shabanie game and he is expected to produce 9 points. This is in line with the pressure that we are facing as a team. We need to start winning to restore confidence. We hope that the coaches will be able to reach the target and l wants to wish them luck. Takaringofa is aware of that development,” he said.

The former Caps United player, Takaringofa said he only leant about the ultimatum in the newspaper.

“I only read about it in the newspapers. There was no official communication from the executive and as it stands, I cannot comment more about it. They have never told me officially so I will wait for them to communicate with me then I will comment,” he said.

Shabba said he remain hopeful and urged the supporters to rally behind the team.
