MATEZWA School recently partnered Africa Development Trust, a division of the Church of Christ International in painting two classroom blocks.

Pastor Denford Chizanga, ADMT country director, said his organisation was involved in community development.

‘‘When we are in an area, we help to spread to spread the gospel through community development. ADMT is fundamentally involved in complementing the other two organs namely church planting and leadership development. We identify a gap and fill it,’’ he said.

The School head, Dadiraishe Chimwani was ecstatic and said: ‘As a school, we are happy that the Church of Christ has not only provided spiritual guidance to us, but also has seen it fit to help us paint the two blocks.’’

Pastor Drew Humphreys from Christian Church from Savannah, Georgia, and his team mingled with the Matezwa community as painting of the two blocks went full throttle.

Mr Phineas Mundeta, who stood in for the guest of honour, Mr Richard Gabaza, the Chipinge District Schools Inspector, noted that the Church of Christ has been a friend of all seasons for the school.

‘’The church donated furniture to the school in 2014 and now it is painting the school in a deal worth $800. Clearly, you have proved to be an all-weather friend,’’ he said.

The partnership of Church of Christ and Matezwa School in infrastructure development is in tandem with Dr Lazarus Dokora’s thrust in the wake of the updated curriculum’s implementation.
