Farai Mtisi of Hanyani Village under Chief Mutema area appeared before senior Chipinge magistrate, Mr Noah Gwatidzo last Friday facing stock theft charges.

He pleaded guilty to the charges.

It is alleged that on December 26, Mtisi went to Muchini Village grazing lands where the complainant, Givemore Mwanengera’s goats and sheep were grazing.

Mtisi stole 10 goats and five sheep. He drove them away without being noticed. On January 25, Mtisi sold five sheep and two goats to Edison Runhanga of Chinyamatikiti Village under Chief Mutema’s area.

On the same day, Mtisi sold the remaining eight goats to an unknown person at Birchenough Bridge Growth Point.

On January 28, the complainant made a follow-up and found his five sheep and two goats at Edison Runanga’s homestead.

On the following day, Mtisi was arrested by members of the public while he was making a follow-up of his money at Runhanga’s place.

Mr Gwatidzo was yet to sentence Mtisi at the time of going to print on Wednesday.
