CHIPINGE-BASED drama group, Modern Entertainment, have unleashed their first drama DVD titled “Serious Madness” which tackles social on ills affecting people.

The group’s director, Courage Zibonda (23) who hails from Chief Musikavanhu, mobilised a group of 15 actors and actresses between ages 17 and 70 years from within the village. It was produced at Everbest Studios in Rimbi by Smart Dhliwayo.

The play features talented actresses and actors who engage in various activities to earn a living in a rural set up. The play as it progresses also brings out themes such as hate, betrayal and witchcraft.

“Most jobless youths in the rural areas end up stealing and abusing drugs which have detrimental effects to their mental and physical health. It also affects people around them.

“I tried to come up with a dram like this urging them to think outside the box, be innovative and work towards building a legacy through hardwork and dedication.
An idle mind often leads some people into unacceptable vices such as witchcraft, jealous, violence, among other things.
