Chimene attacks two ministers

The ManicaPost

From Abel Zhakata in Checheche
MINISTER of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs, Cde Mandi Chimene, this week lashed out at two Zanu-PF deputy ministers whom she accused of fanning divisions in the province, adding if left unchecked the actions of the duo will derail the party’s 2018 election campaign.

Addressing thousands of mourners at Checheche Growth Point who attended a funeral parade of six party youths who perished in last Sunday’s tragic accident in Chipinge, Cde Chimene said Chipinge East legislator, Dr Win Mlambo and Headlands legislator, Cde Christopher Chingosho were allegedly disregarding protocol by running parallel structures that were causing disharmony among party supporters.

She urged national political commissar, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere, who was in attendance to clip the deputy ministers’ wings.

Cde Chingosho is the Deputy Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, while Dr Mlambo is the Deputy Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services.

“Our national commissar should come here and solve the problems we have in this province. I have problems with these two people who are failing to live in harmony with others. Please help me here.

“I think maybe the President gave the two ministers those positions to do whatever they want. Maybe they have evil spirits that haunt them to act the way they do.

“In Makoni, there is your deputy, Chingosho and here in Chipinge we have Win Mlambo.

“They do things outside protocol with the intention of presenting me as an incompetent minister who is failing to run the province.

“They should know that they are day-dreaming and anyone who transgresses will be exposed for people to know your true colours. I will expose you in public like what I am doing right now. I will say out your name. People must know that you are destroying the party like what Joice Mujuru did,” she said.

Cde Chimene accused Dr Mlambo of secretly campaigning for Checheche businessman, Mr Wilson Kumbula to take over the Chipinge South constituency behind the back of the incumbent, Cde Enock Porusingazi.

“He is holding secret meetings which we don’t know as leaders in the province and we receive reports everyday of such clandestine meetings. I have also written to President Mugabe to look into this issue.

“When you are given a ministerial post you should cool down and humble yourself. Don’t give me a hard time in this province.

“Cde Kasukuwere the people who are troubling me are educated people who are supposed to help me and not to give me headaches. Some of them went abroad to study and instead of helping me with new ideas they are causing problems.

“We don’t want that in Manicaland. I don’t fear anyone and I will say out your name in the public. Go and report to whoever you want and I will still repeat what I have said here,” she said.

Cde Kasukuwere urged MPs to unite and shun divisions. He said Zanu-PF won Chipinge South constituency after a long struggle battling Ndonga.

“Let us not go back, but unite and maintain our grip here. All our MPs in Manicaland must work together and deliver to the people. Fights and divisions are not allowed in the party. We don’t want MPs who go and invade others’ territories. Don’t leave your constituency to cause confusion in another constituency. This is not the time to look for candidates.

“No candidates will be chosen outside party protocol. Keep your personal candidates in your pockets and don’t create problems for us.

“We work with MPs who were chosen by the people and here we have Cde Porusingazi as our MP for Chipinge South and don’t disturb him in doing work for his constituency.

“Instead of fighting here in Chipinge, you must unite and wrestle the Musikavanhu constituency which has remained in the hands of the MDC-T. Let us fight hunger here and not fight among ourselves. We don’t want people who scare away people from the party,” he said.

Zanu-PF Manicaland chairman, Dr Samuel Undenge, also called for unity of purpose in the province.
