Can Salah end Liverpool’s goal drought?

The ManicaPost

Liverpool’s desperation to end their 27-year league title hoodoo has been laid bare by the impending arrival of Roma winger Mohamed Salah, who is set to become the club’s record signing.

The former Chelsea flop is expected to fetch a fee totalling £39million that would make him Liverpool’s record signing – eclipsing the £35m they paid for Andy Carroll.

A five-year deal is thought to be on the cards for the Egypt international that will see him become Jurgen Klopp’s second summer signing after Dominic Solanke.

An early raid on the transfer market and a big-money signing holding aloft a club scarf is usually enough to prompt any Red to proclaim ‘this year is our year’.

Salah’s arrival at £39m will take the total just shy of £950m, and they are expected to break the £1billion mark later this summer. – Daily Mail.
