MUTARE will for the first time host the Summer Beer Festival which will see scores of fun lovers from all walks of life converging at Golden Peacock Villa Hotel from next Friday to Sunday for the entertainment jamboree.

Although it is beer-drinking binge that quickly comes into one’s mind when the term “Beer festival” is brought up, organisers of this year’s edition, Paradise Entertainment, said the festival was aimed at bringing families together and make them merry make through music and interaction.

Upcoming and revered artistes from the eastern border city and beyond as well as celebrated wheel spinners will take turns to provide entertainment during the period. Activities for kindergarten and school-going children will also be part of festivities.

Hip-hop, Zim-dancehall and Afro-pop artistes and deejays such as King Shaddy, Tytan, J Brown, Dboi and Sparxx, Ray Dizz, Snizzle, Merciless Zim, Smiley, MC Tatea, CC Exclusive headline the potentially-intriguing festival.

One of the organisers, Sheikh Juen, said preparations were at an advanced stage.

“We are happy with the preparations. We can safely call it is a food, music and beer festival which is aimed at bringing families together, interact and build synergies while having fun.

Artistes will take turns to entertain people during the three-day fiesta,” he said.

Golden Peacock entertainment manager, Willard Madhombiro, who has instantly turned the posh hotel into a formidable home of entertainment after hosting revered local and foreign artistes, said it was all systems go.

“It is our pleasure to host such a prestigious event. It is refreshing to note that the organisers decided to bring the fiesta to Mutare. Beer festival offers the same opportunities to the young and elderly to come together for the first time and enjoy quality time at your first choice Chinese-branded and infused hotel.

“Being an outdoor function, people who will attend will enjoy a cool breeze and appreciate or view the beauty of Mutare while having fun. This is a flexible venue with a state of art beer outlet which has a maximum carrying capacity of 500. We are ready to host the event and we urge people to come in numbers and be part of the festivities,” said Madhombiro, affectionately known as Widzo.

The beer fest concept is set to stimulate domestic tourism.

“Rooms, beers and braai packs will be discounted to accommodate and attract local revellers. It is also a marketing platform for stakeholders to come and exhibit their products and I am glad to confirm that some corporate have shown interests. We would like to urge people to come in their numbers and have blissful moments,” added Madhombiro, who is also the hotel’s food and beverages manager.
