CHILDREN in Chipinge are having the time of their lives after a female entrepreneur, Mrs Nyaradzo Chadambuka, exploited the opportunity and established a weekend amusement park that caters for the young and old.
The ambitious businesswoman has changed the weekend face of the town.
“Whenever I visited Harare, it became a ritual that I took our daughter, Chloe Asante to Long Chang or Uncle Benji’s fun factory. She was excited and we could see her eyes light up. One day, I thought about bringing the kids’ fun to Chipinge for them to hang out and interact,’’ said Mrs Chadambuka.

“We had some savings. My husband, Dr Chadambuka told me that since I had a degree and I was unemployed, it would be worth my while if I take up a business venture. I would be my own boss. Therefore, we used the savings to purchase equipment and on the eve of Christmas, Chipinge amusement park was born,’’ she said.

Chipinge Amusement Park is located along the Chipinge-Mount Selinda Road just behind the Government Complex at the new Chipinge Town Council Park. It is a perfect example of a public-private partnership.

Every Saturday, her amusement park is open to children from the ages of three to 12. She employs two people who provide the necessary help to the kids.

“Children are the heartbeat of our lives. They are the reason we strive to do better in life. Our children’s happiness is the fundamental key to our own happiness. Therefore, our aim is to ensure that kids have fun. We provide activities for these children for a mere $2 per day on Saturday from 10am to 5pm,’’ she explained.

Her clientele is from in and around Chipinge.

“Children come from Chipinge town and some of them are from Clearwater. We have challenges, however, and this is the rainy weather. Most of the equipment is water based and we operate at an open space, rains are tantamount to automatic shut down.

Nevertheless, we soldier on,’’ said the entrepreneur who feels, the sky is the limit in her business endeavours.

Her husband, Dr Chadambuka, is always on standby for any mishap that may befall anyone of the children.

Children are exposed to jumping castles and inflated pools where they play for the whole day.
