Meanwhile, the much-hyped Valentine’s dinner at the same venue lived up to its billing after more than 80 couples – among them the who-is-who of Mutare – graced the occasion.

Urban groover, Ngoni Kambarami serenaded couples with his yesteryear love ballads such as Ndiwe Chete, Bvuma and Happy Birthday.

He also belted some potential hits from his forthcoming album, Werudo Ungamudii.

Guests were treated to red carpet treatment as they entered the venue and tested some local and international wines before they took their seats.

Dinner was promptly served with a four-course meal that had excellent Chinese cuisines as part of it.

It was also a rare opportunity for guests as they aired their special love messages to their lovers live on air through local radio station, Diamond FM which broadcasted the colourful event live.

The urban groover, Kambarami also exhibited his artistry and versatility when he performed some stand-up comedy stunts sending guests into delirium and stitches throughout the night.

The dinner lasted to the wee hours of Wednesday morning and raffle draws were conducted where some couples won prizes such as the hotel’s accommodation            complementary vouchers.
