Afro-pop musician launches singles Flot-Boi

GOLDEN Peacock Villa will today (Friday) host budding Afro-pop and house artiste, Takudzwa ‘Flot Boi’ Mabaso who is going to launch the much-awaited seven singles.

The musician delayed its release because of financial challenges He, however, raised funds through the 26-year-old singer’s Ten Strike Tour around Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique where he represented the province well.

Bulawayo-based Hip Hop singer, Calvin and Princes Vail from Zambia are expected to grace the event together with Diamond FM’s Swat Squad.

The seven singles are Jaivha, Kutanda botso, Angella, Miss Africa, I don’t care featuring (Calvin), Ginde and Mwari ndokutendai.

He has done collaborations with house and Afro-pop musicians like Calvin and Prince TM in Bulawayo and Lusaka respectively.

The tracks were recorded in Bulawayo and Mutare’s Grace and Truth studios by Dj Touch and Dj Bleech who are also going to be part of tonight’s occasion.

In an interview, Fot Boi said: “Financial problems stalled our project over the past few years, but things are changed for the better and now I am officially launching my project. The Ten Strike Tour has scaled me to greater heights and I have had collaborations with musicians from Zambia and locally.”

He thanked Nyanyadzi-based Humbic Investments’s Tawanda Nkomo, Harane Fencing, Distinct Fashions and Deep Frame Music who helped a lot towards the success of his project.

Flot Boi left Mutare’s Externals Band to start his own music in 2011. He has performed in several functions around Manicaland and Zimbabwe with his Swiss Dance Group. The Jaivha hit-maker started singing at an early age of 10.

The hotel’s management confirmed the show and said it was all systems go.

“The show is on and we are in for yet another exhilarating night. We believe it will be a blissful fun-filled night since a galaxy of entertainers will take turns to thrill fans. We will continue to bring more artistes across all genres. We would like to thank patrons and fun lovers who also pack the Glow Bar to the brim whenever there is an entertainment event,” said Willard “Dhombz” Madhombiro.
