Afro Jazz crooner shines at Val’s dinner Prayer Soul

UPCOMING Afro-jazz musician, Prayer Soul is hoping to take his musical career to a higher level by releasing a maiden complete album which will hit the streets in March.
In an interview on the sidelines of a Valentine’s dinner where the youthful musician serenaded to couples at the serene Musangano Lodge on Saturday, the youthful artiste revealed that rubbing shoulders with other revered jazz crooners in Harare moulded him to be a more confident and versatile artiste.

The candle lit dinner was the young artiste’s maiden performance at the lodge and is set to stage other live performances in several entertainment places in Mutare this month serenading couples and individuals.

The dinner was attended by close to 50 couples and was also broadcast live on the local radio station Diamond fm giving revellers a rare chance to give their loved ones special messages live on air.

The music strum hits from yester year greats such as True Love done by Busi Ncube. He also sampled tracks carried on his forthcoming album to be released in March.

The Bulawayo-born guitarist started his musical career in 2010 and used to play lead roles in the popular acoustic nights held in Harare.

“I can safely say that I owe much of my success to the acoustic nights that were popular in Harare around 2011-12. I was an integral part of those nights in Harare together with a couple of friends among them Tariro ne Gitare and others” said the youthful musician.

He hopes to hold more live shows in Mutare to popularise his brand.
“My plan is to establish a wide base in Mutare and amass more fans as I garner more experience in the Afro Jazz genre.

I also intend to popularise the acoustic nights in Mutare with several upcoming jazz musicians.

The pre-Valentine’s dinner ran up to the early hours of the morning with revellers enjoying several packages lined up at the venue among them wine testing and photo shoots among others.
