THREE suspected female rapists allegedly pounced on a 19-year-old student from a Mutare college and sexually abused him last Saturday.
Chipinge District police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Blessing Kadzuraumera, confirmed the incident which happened at the 20km peg along Tanganda–Ngundu Highway.
“On February 18, the complainant from Chindukumire Village under Chief Garahwa’s area who is a student was going home when she was offered a lift by the three suspects.
“While waiting for transport at Tanganda Bus Terminus around 12-midnight, the three women stopped their red Honda Fit with unknown registration numbers. They picked the student who was going to Vheneka in Chipinge South.
“After driving for about 10km, two of the women who were seated on the back made sexually advances to the student, but he resisted,” he said.
Asst Insp Kadzuraumera said the two women grabbed the student, while the other one continued driving.
“When they reached the 20km peg, one of the women forcibly removed the student’s pair of trousers, while the other one firmly held his hands. The other woman continued driving.
“They then forced the student to lie on his back on the back seat of the car and one of them straddled on top of him. She became intimate with him,” said Asst Insp Kadzuraumera.
“The driver continued driving towards Chisumbanje until they reached Manzvire Business Centre where she stopped the vehicle. The women seated on the back seat pushed the student out of the vehicle and sped off.
“The student later made a report at ZRP Chisumbanje.
“Police attended the scene and referred the student to St Peter’s Mission Hospital for medical examination,” added Asst Insp Kadzuraumera.
He urged members of the public to use public transport and avoid travelling at night.
